2020 Season

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, skills maintenance and other training will unfortunately look very different this year.  We are still working through the plans for these programs.

There won’t be a Skills Maintenance Course (Requal) in Apollo Bay in early November.  We are more likely to conduct sessions during December in conjunction with Wye River and Kennett River SLSC’s.  Additionally, there may be a series of Skills Maintenance sessions available in Melbourne for Apollo Bay members.

  • Apollo Bay P12 College Bronze Medallion – this training that is normally conducted at the end of Term 4 will be rescheduled to Term 1 2021.
  • Bronze Camp – there wont be a Bronze Camp this year, however we are still hoping to schedule Bronze training over the upcoming season, as long as we are confident it can be done in a COVID safe envionment.
  • SRC (Surf Rescue Certificate) – SRC and other training will be considered but remains unlikely as Bronze training remains the priority.

We understand that this is disappointing to many members, but we will endeavour to continue planning and will communicate this with you as soon as we know.

PATROL

You also need to be familiar with Patrol Expectations. Please make sure to check your patrol start and finish times as they have changed slightly from previous years.
It is important that you inform your patrol captain ASAP if you are unable to attend a rostered patrol.
If you fail to attend a rostered patrol without notifying your patrol captain beforehand you will lose your active member access to the club until you attend another patrol.
Any queries please contact Ross Marriner (Club Captain) on 0432 166 554.
