2021/22 Patrol Calendar / Schedule

Patrolling members please familiarise yourself with the Patrol Member Expectations document below. Be sure to check your patrol start and finish times. It is important that you inform your Patrol Captain ASAP if you are unable to attend a rostered patrol. If you fail to attend a rostered patrol without notifying your Patrol Captain beforehand you will lose your active member access to the club until you attend another patrol. To participate you must be a current member and to allow adequate time for processing we require any course fees to be paid a month prior to the course THIS INCLUDES Nippers, Bronze & SRC. Fee information is available under the MEMBERSHIP tab.

Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew (IRBC)

8-10 January, 2023

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an IRB in rescue operations

Pre-requisites: 15 years old with current Bronze Medallion.

Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver (IRB)

4 days over 2 weekends & additional log book hours
26-27 November, 2022
& 7-8 January, 2023

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively drive an IRB in rescue operations. The course involves 20 hours of training + additional log book hours in different conditions. 

Pre-requisites: 17 years old with current Bronze Medallion, current Victorian Marine Licence, current Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew (IRBC).

Silver Medallion Patrol Captain

Provides participants with the skills, knowledge and experience to manage a beach in emergency and non-emergency situations

Pre-requisites: 17 years old with current Bronze Medallion plus one of either Advance Resuscitation Techniques (ART) or First Aid (AID)

Side-by-side Vehicle (SSV/ATV)

Course 1 - 30 October, 2022
Course 2 - 26 November, 2022

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate an SSV (i.e. ATV) for lifesaving purposes.

Pre-requisites: A financial club member. At least 18 years old on the day of assessment with a current Drivers Licence.

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques / First Aid (ART/FA)

29 October, 2022

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use oxygen, airway management devices and automated defibrillator during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious or unconscious breathing casualties and correct use of bag valve mask and suction equipment.

Pre-requisites: Financial member and 15 years old by time of assessment.

We require a current ART on every Patrol and are very low on members that are current. For further information please email Sue and Evelyn at training@apollobayslsc.com.au

Note: ART expire every 3 years, so completion of a full course every 3 years is required.

SKILLS MAINTENANCE & TRAINING (REQUAL)

30 October, 2022

Members who hold the minimum of either Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate are required to undertake Skills Maintenance & Training (Requal) yearly.  This training allows participants to gain and maintain valuable life saving and personal development skills.

Part 1 - E-learning

This includes – Rescue Water Craft Certificate (RWC); Surf Rescue Certificate  (SRC); Bronze Medallion; Radio Operator Certificate; Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART); Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crew and Driver

Login to LSV Members Training Portal by clicking here  Your login details will be the same as for your Members Area Account.
> Go to SKILLS MAINTENANCE
> Then go to COMPLETE E-LEARNING
> Complete all the e-learning modules relevant to you.

Note – if you hold a Bronze Medallion, you do not need to complete Radio or SRC as the Bronze Quiz will cover them.

Part 2 - Practical Session

Using the same web portal  https:// mt.lsv.com.au/, book into a Skills Maintenance practical session.

Find a Skills Maintenance session at a date and location that suits you.  

IRB Drivers, please bring along your Marine Licence. After completion of the practical session ensure that you have a copy of your Skills Maintenance Card and send it to training@apollobayslsc.com.au

Need to withdraw from a course?

If you need to withdraw from a course please email volunteertraining@lsv.com.au

Resuscitation (CPR)

If you need to renew your Resuscitation (CPR) qualification (it only lasts 12 months) book into a course that is running at the same time as the Skills Maintenance session that you have booked into.
